Leicester Riders Women’s guard turns in a sensational performance on both sides of the ball during a dominant 40-94 triumph over the Cardiff Met Archers.

After re-signing with the Leicester Riders in the off-season, Brooke Bigott has started the 2025-26 campaign in style with an impressive showing in the Betty Codona Trophy.

Brooke Bigott was unstoppable in Cardiff

Bigott led the charge offensively for the Riders – recording 22 points and sinking three of her five shots from deep.

The American guard looked inevitable every time she made her way down the floor; her confidence was oozing as she continued to dictate proceedings.

Cardiff were left shellshocked as Bigott remained aggressive throughout the fixture, drawing multiple fouls and dishing the ball to her teammates at every opportunity.

Her versatile skillset was on full display as the 25-year-old registered eight rebounds and six assists during her magnificent 32-minute cameo.

More than just an offensive threat

Bigott was more than just an inspiration when handling the ball; she was the instigator of a devastating transition offense due to her keen defensive prowess.

During the triumph over the Archers, she stole the ball on seven occasions, while only fouling her opponents twice.

One thing that statistics cannot describe is the levels of effort and pride that players display during their performances, something that Bigott shows every time she steps foot onto a basketball court.

Currently, the Sheffield Hatters have set the standard in Super League Basketball Women as they have started the season undefeated in impressive fashion – taking down the Newcastle Eagles and Manchester Basketball in the process.

However, with a commanding two-way presence on the roster like Brooke Bigott – partnered by Katie Januszewska and Kian Omer-Jones – the Leicester Riders could be a significant contender for silverware this year.
