However, the WNBA is boasting talent that will be ready to propel their name into the spotlight and become the leagues next superstar.

Cameron Brink – Los Angeles Sparks

The second overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft, Cameron Brink had an impressive start to her professional career – averaging 7.5 points per game, 5.3 rebounds per game and 1.1 steals per game.

Los Angeles had drafted a talent that could become one of the most dominant paint players and scorers in the game.

Despite the promising beginning to her exciting career, Brink’s rookie year was cruelly ended after 15 games as she suffered a torn ACL injury against the Connecticut Sun.

At 23 years of age, the Sparks’ forward will be relishing returning to the court, although it may take time to get over the psychological aspect of such a horrific injury.

Nevertheless, if the Stanford graduate can rediscover her form from the start of her rookie season, Brink has a versatile skillset that could place her amongst the powerhouses of the WNBA.

Paige Bueckers – UConn Huskies

It is no secret that Paige Bueckers will be the next superstar to step up from the college game, every franchise were chomping at the bit to get their hands on the expected generational talent.

With the draft lottery results already decided – it would be a mammoth source of distress for fans of the Dallas Wings if they did not use the first overall pick on the ace out of UConn.

Even if you are not a follower of college basketball, it would be a huge shock if you had not heard the name Paige Bueckers.

Currently, the gifted guard is putting up outstanding numbers for the Huskies – scoring 18.7 points per game.

A three level scorer with an unworldly amount of pressure on her shoulder, Bueckers has the potential to etch her name into the WNBA history books.

Angel Reese – Chicago Sky

Angel Reese is already one of the shining lights of the WNBA – not just in her levels of talent, but in her market value, she is a star.

It did not take Reese long to acclimatise herself in the professional game – averaging 13.6 points per game and a commanding 13.1 rebounds per game.

Despite averaging a double-double, the 22 year-old only received one vote in the Rookie of the Year ballot – Caitlin Clark stealing the limelight and the rest of the votes.

The forward has been bombarded with accusations of stat-padding due to failed lay-ups and collecting the rebounds.

However, her mentality has remained resilient as Reese has been perfecting her craft in the off-season.
