It is official – the Dallas Wings have the number one selection in the WNBA Draft for a second consecutive year, but how will the rest of the selections pan out?

Despite the NCAA season barely off the ground, the WNBA Draft Lottery has taken place, and it has not disappointed. It is time to do the BritsDontJump’s first mock draft of the year with the remaining lottery selections.

#1 Dallas Wings: Awa Fam, Valencia – Center

This is the first top draft selection in two years – after Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers – that is not cemented in place, although the Dallas Wings would be smart to select Awa Fam ahead of the highly sought-after Lauren Betts from UCLA.

At 19 years old, Fam has already established herself as a cornerstone of a young, vibrant Spanish national team and is yet to disappoint when pulling on her international jersey – something that the Wings could use to their advantage.

Her professional experience at both domestic and international levels is something that sets her above Betts, making her the perfect partner for the brilliant Bueckers.

What Buckers needs is a physical player that is dangerous in the pick and roll, while also being a dominant presence in the paint to create her own opportunities – Fam can provide all of this and more.

During EuroBasket 2025, the Valencia center showcased her immense potential with a string of inspiring performances. Fam averaged 8.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game.

The partnership between Awa Fam and Paige Bueckers could sell out arenas and compete for a championship, with the correct pieces around them – it is time to get excited in Dallas.

#2 Minnesota Lynx: Azzi Fudd, UConn – Guard

The fact that this pick was even in the hands of the Minnesota Lynx is a travesty in itself; the Chicago Sky front office needs a long, hard look in the mirror – but here we are.

Lauren Betts falls further down the board in this mock draft as Fudd and the Lynx could complement each other perfectly.

UConn’s senior star is thriving now that she is out of the shadow of Paige Bueckers – averaging 21 points, 3.5 assists and 2.2 steals per game, while shooting 54.8% from three-point range.

Fudd’s attributes leave no stone unturned and can be moulded into anything that the Lynx require as they bid to prize the championship away from the Las Vegas Aces.

Her defensive ability is outstanding. Fudd matches her opponents stride for stride, forcing several turnovers a game and being the trigger point for a devastating transition offence in UConn.

Not only will Azzi Fudd be an instant hit in Minnesota, but she will also sprinkle her stardust all over the franchise.

#3 Seattle Storm: Olivia Miles, TCU – Guard

In a surprising turn of events, Olivia Miles signed a NIL deal, extending her stay in the collegiate system for another year, entering the transfer portal in the process.

However, after sealing a move to TCU, Miles has continued to exhibit traits of an elite guard ready to take the WNBA by storm – step forward the Seattle Storm.

Seattle is already home to one of the most exciting prospects in the entire WNBA, Dominique Malonga. Miles and Malonga have the potential to become one of the most feared duos in the entire league.

So far this campaign, the former Notre Dame star has registered 18.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 7.5 assists per game.

The versatile guard has shown a keen defensive eye by recording 2.7 steals per game and can provide Seattle with a more stable foundation to build the future of their franchise on.

Olivia Miles’ playmaking nous could accelerate the development of Malonga and elevate her to superstar status with immediate effect.

#4 Washington Mystics: Lauren Betts, UCLA – Center

A generational talent that falls from the top pick to fourth, not because of a lack of talent, but the fact that Lauren Betts does not fit the profile of player that them particular franchises are looking for – the Washington Mystics could not be happier.

The Mystics are quietly establishing a young core of players that could develop into one of the most enthralling teams in the entire WNBA.

Adding a player with the outstanding qualities of Betts to a roster that already possesses Kiki Iriafen, Sonia Citron, and the recovering Georgia Amoore could be one of the steals of the entire draft process.

Betts is more than a renowned scoring presence, but a two-way sensation that could easily grow to the levels of the great A’ja Wilson.

The UCLA center is currently averaging 15.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 2.2 blocks, while shooting 67% from the floor.

What makes Lauren Betts one of the highly sought-after prospects of the 2026 draft is her ability to contribute in every aspect of the game, at such an impeccable level.

If Washington can snatch the senior with the fourth overall selection, then they may already guarantee themselves a spot in the postseason.

#5 Chicago Sky: Flau’jae Johnson, LSU – Guard

Before we start, nobody can predict what the Chicago Sky will do with their lottery selection. The word ‘enigma’ has never been so perfectly fitting. However, for this exercise, let us imagine that Chicago is a normal functioning franchise that does not worship chaos.

As the legendary Courtney Vandersloot continues her rehabilitation from a season-ending ACL injury, and Hailey Van Lith continues to find her feet at the professional level, Flau’jae Johnson will provide the Sky with scoring and versatility in its backcourt.

Johnson – much like Angel Reese – appears to turn everything she touches into gold, with a budding music career and an exceptional basketballing talent – the WNBA will require little transition.

The LSU guard has recorded 17.3 points, 3.7 assists, and 1.5 steals over her six appearances this campaign – leading her teammates to a 6-0 record.

Most importantly, Johnson already has past chemistry with Chicago’s superstar Reese and Van Lith from their time together on the LSU roster during the 23-24 season.

There is much guard depth in the 2026 draft, but Flau’jae Johnson would appear to be the safest bet for the ‘Windy City’ franchise.
